Community Boards
Article 6.013 of Act Number 107-2020, as amended on August 14, 2020, known as the "Municipal Code of Puerto Rico," provides that each Community Board shall approve those internal regulations that are necessary for its operation.
Said Board has the function of advising the Autonomous Municipality of Guaynabo with regard to the Ordinance Plans and the implementation thereof, in the preparation, revision and compliance with the Ordinance Plans and Ordinance Regulations and Plans within a specific geographic area. They shall also oversee the implementation and compliance with said documents, including the execution of the land management powers transferred to the municipality pursuant to this Chapter on Land Management, promote citizen participation in said procedures and inform the municipality of their recommendations.
In order to facilitate the real and effective participation of the citizens, it is necessary that the procedures of the Community Boards be uniform and accessible to all residents of the Autonomous Municipality of Guaynabo. Therefore, it has been determined that all the Boards adopt a uniform Regulation to govern their procedures.
This promotes a better understanding on the part of citizens of the functioning of these municipal bodies.
