Departamento de Instalaciones Forestales y Naturales realiza limpieza de costas en Amelia

Como parte de la conmemoración del Día Internacional de Limpieza de Costas y el compromiso del alcalde de Guaynabo Edward O’Neill Rosa con el medio ambiente, empleados del Departamento de Instalaciones Forestales y Naturales (DIFONA) participaron junto a estudiantes de la Escuela Superior Rosalina C. Martínez, jóvenes del Programa de Ecología de la organización Caras con Causa, vecinos y personal de la Oficina de Servicios Múltiples de la comunidad de Amelia, así como voluntarios de Scuba Dogs Society, para llevar a cabo trabajos de limpieza en nuestras costas.
Como resultado, se logró retirar sobre 1,500 libras de basura, en su mayoría plásticos y material vegetativo, informó la administradora de DIFONA, Marilyn Maldonado.
«Esfuerzos como este son esenciales para evitar la contaminación, proteger los ecosistemas marinos y mantener limpio nuestro planeta Tierra», puntualizó el primer ejecutivo municipal».
