and faith values that move our community towards a better quality of life. The right side, red, represents the patron saint of Guaynabo, Saint Peter Martyr of Verona, who gave testimony until he died for the cause of Christ. The red color symbolizes the passion of our Lord Jesus Christ who gave his life for all. This color also represents love, friendship, human warmth and fraternity that distinguishes the heart of Guaynabo, which is the historic center of our city.<\/p><p>The flag divided in two fields, on the left in yellow (gold metal according to the heraldry) and on the right in red (gules according to the heraldry). In the center is a green circle (in heraldry sinople) bordered with a white hoop (silver in heraldry) with a cross flordellis\u00e9e and jironed in white (silver in heraldry) and black (sable in heraldry). At the bottom of each field bordering the circle are two green palm branches.<\/p>\n<p>The green color of the circle symbolizes hope, a cardinal virtue that should accompany every human heart. Hope for a better future for all our fellow citizens. It also represents the vegetation that surrounds our city. This green color has been chosen because it is one of the oldest heraldic colors of Guaynabo. The white ring that borders the green circle symbolizes the Christian unity that characterizes our area.<\/p>\n<p>The flordelisado and jironada cross represents San Pedro M\u00e1rtir de Verona, patron saint of our town, placed in the center of the circle reminds us that the area has been since its foundation, spiritual and governmental center of our municipality. The white color is another of the oldest colors in the heraldic history of Guaynabo and symbolizes purity, peace, dedication and unity; the black color signifies the strength, stability and formality of the community.<\/p>\n<p>The green palm branches represent hope and evoke the traditions of our town, such as the processions of the semana mayor and the patron saint festivities.
