The Transportation and Maintenance Department oversees the services provided by contract, repairs and maintenance of the municipal vehicle fleet. The Collective Transportation service provides transportation services to different points within the jurisdiction of Guaynabo from Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 5:00pm - All routes and Saturdays from 8:00am to 4:00pm - 2 Trunk and Paratransit. The established routes are: trunk routes, Amelia, Torrimar, Esmeralda, Guaraguao/ Santa Rosa I and II, Canta Gallo/ Santa Rosa III, Piedras Blancas/Los Baez, Camarones, Hato Nuevo, Mamey, Barrio Rio and the Paratránsito service. Likewise, school transportation service is offered through carriers contracted through a semiannual agreement with the Department of Education. Regular transportation service is provided as well as transportation service for special education students. The department administers the registration of vehicles and The department manages the registration of vehicles and the renewal of vehicle fleet tags, which are valid until June 30 of each year. We manage the acquisition of fuel to guarantee the availability of the resource to cover the needs of the municipal operation. We make insurance claims for accidents and/or incidents related to municipal vehicles and ensure that they are repaired.
